Fifth Season
Chris Bates is entering his fifth season as the Trojans' Running Backs coach. He had been a graduate student assistant coach for two seasons before becoming coach of the VSU running backs.
Bates was an outstanding running back at VAU and had a key role on the Trojans' offense and special teams.
He is a native of Virginia Beach, Va.
He received his bachelor's degree in Visual and Communication Design in 2004. He is working on his Master's Degree in Education at Virginia State.
