DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching and supporting the development of mechanical engineering technology program, as well as, interfacing with other academic programs. Developing support for mechanical engineering technology program from local industry and professional groups will be expected. Responsibilities will also include developing course curriculum; recruiting and advising students; serving on departmental, school, and university committees; teaching both lower and upper division undergraduate courses in mechanical engineering technology and general engineering; research experience in  robotics; remote controlled vehicles and other duties as assigned by the department chairperson. Candidates are also expected to conduct related research and develop proposals. 
 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must have strong commitment to undergraduate education along with a demonstrated ability to pursue scholarly activities. Applicant must have a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering. Teaching experience of at least five years in Mechanical Engineering Technology courses is required. Specialization in remote vehicle research, system identification and prediction, control systems application, unmanned vehicle, mobile robot control,   automation, and expertise in applying computational tools to materials processing along with experience in practical laboratory application is required. Ability to attract research funding and verifiable research accomplishments through refereed publications; and full time teaching experience of at least five years at the college/university level is preferred. The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to support the ABET continuous improvement process, work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds and must meet qualifications for tenure. Excellent oral and written communications skills in English are required.
