ASSISTANT/ ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
TENURE-TRACK – SOCIAL WORK
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching a full academic load (12 hours per semester) of undergraduate courses in undergraduate generalist curriculum and special topics courses in his/her area of specialization, preference will be given to candidates who are able to teach in one or more of the following areas: Research, Human Behavior and the Social Environment, Social Welfare Policy, Practice, Diversity and Field Education. Responsibilities also include course and curriculum planning, evaluation of program and student outcomes, a research agenda, and service to the department, university, community, and profession. This is a 9-month, full-time, tenure-track appointment..
MSW in Social Work from a CSWE accredited institution and two years post MSW practice experience in Social Work. Teaching experience and proficiency of educational technology is required.
Ph.D in Social Work from a nationally-accredited institution is preferred. ABD will be considered, but doctorate must be completed by May 31, 2014. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated ability to work effectively with those from diverse backgrounds and have demonstrated cultural competence. Other considerations include experience with educational technology and knowledge of the Council of Social Work Education accreditation standards.
