VSU Welcomes New VP for Institutional Advancement

We are pleased to announce that Ms. Reshunda L. Mahone will join the VSU Trojan Family as Vice President for Institutional Advancement.
Ms. Mahone brings to VSU more than sixteen years of higher education fundraising experience. She has served Spelman College as the Associate Vice President for Development. In previous roles at Spelman, she served as the Director of Annual Giving and a Leadership Gifts Officer. During her tenure at Spelman College, she established the Every Woman…Every Year! Alumnae Fundraising Campaign where alumnae participation grew from 16% to 41%, supported the successful completion of the Campaign for Spelman College which raised over $157M, and implemented programs and infrastructure which increased donors and revenue from all constituent groups.
Ms. Mahone has previously served in fundraising roles at the University of Miami School of Law (Miami, FL), Georgia State University (Atlanta, GA), University of Central Florida (Orlando, FL), and the University of Florida (Gainesville, FL).
The Miami, Florida native holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Business Administration (concentration in Information Sciences) from the University of Florida, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Central Florida, and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE).
She currently serves on several boards including the African American Development Officers (AADO) Network, the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District III Board, and has previously held board positions with the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Greater Atlanta Chapter and Miami Chapter. Ms. Mahone is a member of the Higher Education Leadership Foundation (H.E.L.F.) Gamma Cohort, and is a Leadership Miami alumna.
We are excited to welcome Ms. Mahone to lead and increase our fundraising efforts as we work to provide transformative experiences for our students. We are fortunate to have her join our Trojan family on August 4, 2016.
