VSU Senior Receives Prestigious Health and Physical Education Award

Alex Todd of Baltimore, a senior, health and physical education major at Virginia State University (VSU) was recently presented the Frances A. Mays Award at the 2013 VAHPERD Convention. Todd currently serves as President of the VSU Sport Management Majors Club and as a member of the Club’s Board of Directors. He is working as an intern with the Colonial Athletic Association. The Frances A. Mays Award is presented each year to an undergraduate student from a Virginia college or university who emulates the personal qualities, high ideals, and professional ethics for which Frances A. Mays was known, admired, respected and loved. The award goes to a senior student majoring in health and physical education.
Todd is the second President of the VSU Sport Management Majors Club to receive the Mays Award. Curtis Walker was also honored in 2010. Walker is currently enrolled in The DeVos Sport Business Management Program at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL.
