HBCU Awards

Virginia State University is the finalist for seven categories for the seventh annual HBCU Awards. The awards ceremony will be held on July 14 in Washington D.C.’s Gallup Building. Finalists were selected from more than 175 nominations from HBCUs across the country. Winners will be announced on the evening of the awards.
Virginia State University is nominated for the following 2017 HBCU Awards.
* Best Choir (The Virginia State University Gospel Chorale)
* Best Student Government Association
* Best Business Program (The Reginald F Lewis College of Business)
* Female Alumna of the Year (Deshauna Barber)
* Male Coach of the Year (Reggie Barlow)
* Male President of the Year (Makola M. Abdullah, Ph.D.)
* HBCU of the Year (Virginia State University)
