Virginia State University (VSU) sent 18 students to the National Leadership Conference and Competitions for the Future Business Leaders of America–Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) in San Antonio, Texas. Every year, the VSU students raised their level of success and this year was no different.  By the second day, the students earned a place in the top 15 in the following competitions:

  • Darius Holeman: Business Sustainability
  • Christopher Fisher, CeAra Donald, Qhalil Woodson and Kam Spence: Parliamentary Procedures
  • Rhaney Canaday and Walter Boateng: Strategic Analysis and Decision Making
  • Tiffany Talley and Michael Press: Business Ethics
  • Rhaney Canaday and Emmanuel Saunders: Emerging Business Issues
  • Tiffany Talley and Elijah McCants: Business Law
  • Essence Bridges: Public Speaking
  • Davonne Wilmore, Tavieo Miles and Walter Boateng: Website Design
  • Davonne Wilmore and Tavieo Miles: Network Design
  • CeAra Donald and Dumoi Pole: Website Design

The chapter also won the Outstanding Chapter award. Additionally, the chapter’s advisor Aurelia Nicholas-Donald, Ph.D. earned the Outstanding Advisor award. This past spring, Nicholas-Donald was named the FBLA-PBL Advisor of the Year for the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The VSU Chapter of FBLA–PBL walked away with the followings awards:

  • Darius Holeman: First Place in Business Sustainability
  • Tiffany Talley and Michael Press: Third Place in Business Ethics
  • Essence Bridges: Fourth Place in Public Speaking
  • Rhaney Canaday and Walter Boateng: fifth Place in Strategic Analysis and Decision Making
  • Tiffany Talley and Elijah McCants: Eighth Place in Business Law
  • Rhaney Canaday and Emmanuel Saunders: Tenth Place in Emerging Business Issues
