Records Management Office

The Records Management Office is within the Administrative Services Division of the Police Department.  The manager reports to the Deputy Chief of Police.

This office compiles all statistical reports on crimes on campus, incidents involving the publics's safety and maintains all of the department's law enforcement records. The Manager provides members of the public copies of pertinent offense, accident reports that occur on campus, and liaisons with appropriate insurance agencies. Crime victims may receive an automated copy of their individual police report, if the request is made in writing or on a form provided by the Department.

All offense reports are automated as of January 1999 and are readily available to the VSU Department of Social Work's Criminal Justice majors beginning in Fall 2001.  The SWCJ department will utilize this data for criminal justice research purposes and will assist the police department in crime data analysis.
