Trojan Explosion | The Virginia State University Trojan Explosion Marching Band is composed of approximately 180 members, including the Essence of Troy Dancers, Satin Divas Flag Corps and the Troy Elegance Majorette Squad, in addition to instrumentalists. In recent years, the Trojan Explosion has traveled across the country and abroad, becoming a recruitment powerhouse for VSU and bringing home countless accolades. February 2010, VSU made history as the first drum line to perform in the White House as select members performed for President Barack Obama during his signing of the HBCU funding bill. The Trojan Explosion was selected to attend the 10th Annual Honda Battle of the Bands Invitational Showcase. The Trojan Explosion is the only band to participate in nine consecutive showcases in the 10-year history of the event, setting a new record. |
